Brian Cashman: Trade The Unit as Fast as you can!

So according to a report released the day after Christmas in the New York Post, Randy Johnson has thrown a curve-ball to the organization by letting B- Cash know that he'd like to finish his career in a city closer to his Home in Arizona. The thought of Randy Johnson and his 16 million dollar salary coming off the books next year sounds like music to my ears. After two lackluster years at the big ballpark in the Bronx, the unit has not been the dominant stop gap starter that the Yankees believed they were getting after they acquired him from Arizona. In Two Pivotal game three Post Season starts he's been knocked around like some sort of second rate pitcher, most recently getting outperformed by Kenny Pine-Tar Rogers, In this years monumental playoff collapse. The Most likely scenario has him going to the Diamondbacks, but the best deal would be to move the 43 year old to San Diego for Scott Linebrink and thus bolstering a strong Yankee Bullpen. The Padres considered LineBrink a big part of their teams success setting up for the great Trevor Hoffman, and the thought of alternating the trio of Proctor, LineBrink, and Farnsworth in front of the Great Mariano Rivera sounds like fresh arms and safe leads for Yankee fans everywhere. But the big part of this deal is what it means for Barry Zito. If Scott Boras were to offer the Yankees a Discount for the stud lefty they may just swoop in and nab him from the clutches of the cross-town (Lets go) Mets (go). Could you imagine the devastation for Met fans everywhere. I Can.
